Wow, i stumbled on this blog when i was bored, doing a google search on "Chae". Been a long time dude, glad to see you're doing well. I remember Tascha, she was such a sweet Husky, although i remember her almost dying from the heat in the summer. Your description of Chae is funny, i'll have to show it to him. :)

It has been a long time since that Squad Bay in San Diego. A lot of the guy that were there have reenlisted or moved on to other things. It has been a long strange trip for a lot of us I think. The was a great deal of unpleasentness and stupidity but that is all just part of being a Marine. My contract was a year longer than most so I am still looking at another six months before I am done. I feel the same concerns about life after the Corps, but it is better to be moving on forward than standing still.
I kept in contact with Shawn James for about six months after Boot Camp. We ended up going to A school in Pensacola florida at the same time. I lost contact with him when I was stationed at Camp Lejeune. I haven't really run across any one else from plt 1146 though I thought I saw SSgt M in Camp Falujah Iraq a couple months ago. It was at a distance so I am not sure.

My favorites are decidedly less intelligent...

Metafilter is one of my daily stops - it's a community board where people post "the best of the web". I've found so many amazing things there.

For sheer hilarity, Go Fug Yourself is pictures and commentary on the worst (or best) of celebrity fashion. The Britney Spears page is genius.

And finally, if you don't want to see a movie but you're dying to know that surprise ending, check out The Movie Spoiler.

I want to check to see how far Lancaster County is from me but Google Maps doesn't know where Lancaster County in Virginia is.

The only site I can think of is Exploding Dog, which you may or may not have seen before. Sam Brown comes up with pictures based on short lines that people send him. They aren't always the interpretation you may have pictured, which makes it a lot of fun. Some are silly, some are demented, some are poignant. Plus, there's a ton of them, so you'll be going through the site for a while.

[...] I’ve held forth at length here in the past on the subject of high speed rail connections in this country. The MHSRA has crammed more information into one place than I can possibly link to, so you’ll have to do the exploring on your own. Worth looking at no matter if you’re a railroad buff, a proponent of sound civil engineering, or just curious about why high speed rail is such a no-brainer for the Midwest.
Perhaps you could first apply yourself to a beer-and-ballads guide? Much cheaper research. I've participated in barleywine tastings that have run towards 40+ different samples. There's nothing like excessive amounts of barleywine to make you start hearing things :-)
